MemberHey Yall!
Just wanted to introduce myself. I am 24 years old, and I currently live in Texas where my husband is stationed with the Army. We are both from California so it has been an adjustment, but we are fitting in nicely (except for the lack of a Whole Foods store or a Trader Joes) 🙂
I have always struggled with weight. I have never been significantly overweight, but have never been as fit and healthy as i wanted to be. Not to get too personal, but i feel like it helps to get this out…I have struggled with an eating disorder on and off for years. In preperation for my wedding last year i was stuggling more than ever before. I lost a lot of weight, but had some good friends encourage me to get help before i made any real damage. However, since i have moved away and am now living with my husband i have been bouncing between not eating enough and eating way too much. I have gained back all the weight i lost and then some, but in the midst of it all it seems like i have forgotten how to just eat normally. So through this program i am hoping to learn how to just eat again. No more binging and starving. I want to find that balance that i knew once upon a time when i did eat very healthy and didnt obsess so much over food and weight. Anyway, hello everyone and i’m excited to start this new chapeter of my life.March 16, 2013 at 1:17 am #10076fabatfifty
MemberHi Nikki,
I understand how you feel and am kind of in the same boat. I am just starting this adventure too. I dont even know where to start reading. I am also from Calif, what part are you from? I now live in WA. To wet and dreary most months but so beautiful. which also makes you eat.March 16, 2013 at 3:02 pm #10083Nikki0630
MemberI am from the Ventura area. I have a brother in law a couple friends that live in WA right now. I have heard it is beautiful but like you said very wet and dreery.
As for where to start reading, i read the quick start guide and started the menu planner. The only problem i have run into so far is not having access to a health food store out here. I love the SWG breads and stuff (Ezekiel) is good if you can find it. I have to be at work at 6:30 in the morning so it makes the breakfasts they put together for me kinda dificult and the meals are kind of just random things thrown together but looking at them i think i can make them into something. I figure the first week or two are trial and error. My biggest goal is to just stick to eating healthy even if i have to venture off my menu for time reasons that i just keep lots of fruit, veggies, eggs or chicken, and good grains around the house so i can stay on track best i can. Good luck and ill keep you posted if i find any tricks or tips that help if you would do the same?

MemberHello, I just joined trimdown club yesterday in hopes to learn some more on (truly) healthly choices. So far, I’ve worked on the menu, will go shopping tomorrow. Does this tool contain a grocery list to print out, or do folks just print the menu and shop from it?

MemberHi, I just joined today and need to lose at least 100 lbs. I printed off the menu it gave me but it looks like a lot to eat. Does anyone know how many calories the menu is giving us to eat each day?

Memberslkennedy4: I think you just print out the menu. I joined yesterday, shopped today and will prep meals tomorrow and i will get started Monday. I sat down this morning with my menu plan open and made a list. Even before i started this program when i was trying to eat healthier i took one weekend day and pre washed and chopped vegetables, washed and protioned fruit and some veggies or whatever i could to get ahead so all i had to do was grab and go or grab and cook.It helped me stay on track because i didnt use the “i dont wanna cook” excuse so much. Just a suggestion, hope it helps.
