    When I joined this wonderful community, I learned to read labels that may be misleading. Okay, here is my question: I’ve found some bottled juices that are certified organic and fairly priced as well. After reading the ingredients, I read that all the juices that are in the ingredients are from concentrate. Read below:

    • 100% RDI of Vitamin C
    • Punch From Concentrates
    • USDA Certified Organic
    • Conserves Natural Resources
    • Supports Organic Growers

    Other Ingredients: Filtred water; organic evaporated cane juice; organic pineapple, organic white grape, organic orange, and organic lemon juice concentrates; ascorbic acid (vitamin C); organic natural flavor.

    Now my understanding about concentrated juice/products according to the articles from this site is not very healthy. However, when these juices are concentrated, I understand that all of the vital nutrients, antioxidants are stripped during the process. According to the ingredients listed above and this item being certified organic. Questions: 1. Would this item be considered a good juice that has juices that are from concentrate? Please help?

    Hi, gevans46. The concentration process does result in some nutrient losses, but the major problem here is actually the added sugar (“evaporated cane juice”) which is listed before the fruit! 100% pure fruit juice is preferable.

    Thank you once again Ossie! Can you recommend a fruit juice other than V8 fusion, please?

    Hi, gevans46. Brands that state 100% fruit and refrigerated, with no added sugar or concentrate, are best. POM is a good example, as is Mott’s for apple juice. I don’t know where you live, but usually the smaller local producers make the best juices; in California, for example, try Santa Cruz organics, and in South Africa, there is the Wilde line.

    Hi, Sandrae. Some UK brands that appear to provide whole juices include Innocent and Benson’s, as well as Waitrose (orange). Your best bet, other than eating the eating the whole fruit, is to use a juicer – it makes a huge difference.
