MemberWe have used coconut oil and milk in the past with the understanding that both were most beneficial. What is the concensus regarding these products?

MemberThe benefits of coconut milk depend greatly on the amount used and basic genetics and condition of the user. While there are some advantages for digestive disorders and in far Asian users (as studied in the research), the average Westerner should keep in mind that it is still a source of saturated fats that have been linked to cardiovascular risk. Coconut water and olive oil may be a better choice for common use, with some low use of coconut milk, i.e. a couple of tablespoons per day.
As for the difference from milk, keep in mind that it has basically no protein, and needs to be fortified with some vitamins (including B12 and D). Dairy milk also has its disadvantages, and so it is recommended to use organic grass-fed milk. If you want something non-dairy, try an organic fortified vegetable milk, again keeping in mind that it may be low in protein. - AuthorPosts
