I wondered if there would be a way to have all the good choices for a specific meal listed and then choose from them on my own. I have printed out the weekly menus that I receive, and I have purchased many of the ingredients, but prefer some choice among the choices! For example, if oatmeal, eggs, swg muffins, fruit etc are some of the breakfast options, I would like to which ones I would have on that day. It might say grapefruit one day, but I’d rather have another fruit for ex. I did replace some ideas, but I want to stay with the right combination of proteins, carbs, fruits etc and for the right amount per week, but find that following the plans exactly isn’t happening completely yet. If yogurt, cold cereal, hot cereal, and eggs were all breakfast choices, how many times a week should I have eggs for ex, and be ok with the plan? How many bread choices in a day is ok and is it ok not to have bread if its on the menu. Some items I just wanted to delete but had to switch for. Anyway, just wondering!

Hi, Newval. Most users swap out foods from day to day according to their liking. If the food is in the same food group/category it is absolutely fine.
As for eggs – how many to have each week depends on the type of egg you eat and on your medical history. For example, omega-3 or grass-fed eggs are fine to have each day, but regular eggs can be a problem if you have a history of cardiovascular disease or risk factors, or a personal or family history of diabetes.
In the future, we will be providing patterns and exchange lists with which Club members can build their own menus.

I am a newbie also as of today and have the same questions. I don’t really like to eat cereals every morning and prefer something with protien. I enjoy sandwiches sometimes in the morning! I have to bring my food to work for lunch and snacks so need something portable(have a frig at work)I usually eat very well health wise and my husband does most of the cooking. I like my wine so this will be a challenge!Any help?

Hello, I am a newbie and have been looking at my menu for the week. Still not sure how this works. LOL. My question lets say I find a recipe (in the recipe section) for lunch that I like better than what is listed in my weekly menu. Can I just substitute it? How does this work? Thanks!

Hi, Gayle52, and welcome! Sandwiches in the morning are great – especially if it means getting a good source of protein, and of course, a lot depends on using good, nutritious bread. If you find that the morning protein choices don’t allow for what you want, just choose whatever, and swap in your sandwich filling: 1 egg = 1 oz meat or substitute = 1 oz hard cheese = 1/4 cup white cheese.
As for wine, we do want you to enjoy life, and if consumed in moderation, wine can definitely be a part of that (especially dry red wine, as the stereotype goes) – I don’t know how much you’re drinking now, but if you can limit your intake to 3-4 fl oz each day then maybe cut back to every other day, etc., this may help.

Hi, brand0at, and welcome! The menus appear after you click “Finish” at the end of the “Snacks” tab of the Menu Planner. If the button doesn’t work, it means you haven’t yet selected the minimum number of choices in one or more of the meals.
As for switching meals across days – absolutely! A lot of people do that. Flexibility is an important key to success 🙂
