MemberSo..in my small town, I cant find, almond flour, all I could get was organic whole wheat flour, can I substitute them? Also dont have butternut squash, but I have zucchini I grew in my garden, can I substitute them aswell? It kinda hard to make these recipies without the ingrdients..I wish they would include substitutes in the recipies..

MemberHi, TRaffey. Almond and wheat flours have very edifferent properties, so it is a bit more challenging to substitute one for the other. For each cup of almond flour/meal, use 1 cup of wheat flour plus 3 tablespoons of oil.
As for the squashes, zucchini is less starchy than zucchini, so add a little more flour if the consistency of the raw batter seems too watery. An easier substitute for butternut squash would be any other orange squash, and for baking you can use canned pumpkin.
Does your town have a WalMart or Target (or CostCo)? These places carry almond flour.May 20, 2013 at 9:16 pm #11832Tanya

MemberHi, BrandonM1984. Those shakes are just combinations of fruits and/or vegetables in a blender, sometimes with ice. You can get some ideas here http://www.trimdownclub.com/?s=shake&post_type=recipe.
