For heart healthy diet i need to avoid saturated fat, what fat to use instead of butter or coconut oil for baking (fudge cake recipe) and frying (Halibut patties)?
Also in my weekly menu egg substitute and nutritional yeast are listed do i eat them on their own as they don’t seem to go with the other foods in snacks and breakfast?
Hi, Julia16. You can try one of the better margarines, such as those with omega-3s and no trans-fats, as well as organic canola or nut oils.
Egg substitute you can prepare as you would eggs – you can use a teaspoon of a good oil without disrupting your diet plan. Nutritional yeast makes an excellent topping for many cooked dishes, including pasta and sauce, and even the egg substitute – it has a nutty/cheesy flavor and adds protein and B-vitamins.
