MemberThere are around 700 calories in a bottle of wine. While the body is processing the wine it does not process the food we eat so it is stored as fat as are the dead calories in the wine.

MemberHi, geraldforrest. NicholaL makes an excellent point. Regarding the Diet Coke, some of it depends on how much you drink and how much replaces regular sodas. While going diet can mean a major cut in calories if you are used to drinking many regular sodas throughout the day, the problem is this: the artificial sweeteners in Diet Coke “confuse” your metabolism, and can actually lead to weight gain. It sounds counter-intuitive, but it has been shown in research studies.
For this reason, sodas are not recommended in this program, even diet sodas. Alcohol is also not recommended, but occasional small amounts can be worked in, especially if the alcohol is something like dry red wine, with its own benefits.
If you are used to drinking a lot of either and can’t imagine doing without, try cutting back gradually. - AuthorPosts
