MemberThe food listed in the Menu Planner are unfamiliar and therefore could not pick my meals. i live in Nigeria where almost all the food listed in the menu planner cant be found or maybe i am just not used to them. Can you make it a bit easier for me by creating recipes that are African friendly and easy to get.

MemberHi, Shola, and welcome. True, we do not get many people from Africa north of South Africa. What foods do you personally often eat there? With which foods here are you unfamiliar? I’m happy to answer any of your questions.
Location aside, many of the foods are unfamiliar to many people because they are not widely pushed – part of the reason they are so nutritious and helpful to weight loss is that they are not overmarketed and refined. While some of the exact types of food may be different between here and Nigrea, their value as part of a certain food group may be the same, i.e. different legumes (and some of the foods may be the same, just called something else – for example, peanut vs. groundnut, etc.). The main principle of the foods is to choose fresh whole foods, and limit processed and refined items. Beyond that, the Menu Planner arranges portion sizes based on your needs, combinations of food components, and timing. Therefore you can swap out any foods you like for the items in certain food groups – legumes for legumes, whole grains for whole grains, etc. - AuthorPosts
