    Hi all…I actually gained 1/2 a kilo this week, that’s after walking for 30 mins everyday. Trying not to feel disheartened. I am 52 and weigh 93kilos, I want to get under 80 if I can. How long do you think this could take?

    It’s frustrating, I know. I’ve been there numerous times myself. The key now is to keep on doing all the right things, not to expect miracles, especially not at our time in life, and to keep up the spirit. Right now it’s a tricky time for you, as you think – what’s the point? Nothing shifts, so bugger it, I give up. When results not show immediately (which would be cool and motivates), it’s important to know that results will show, but only if you break through this point of not wanting to give up because of gaining instead of losing weight. Just hold on, keep up the good work, imagine yourself at your goal weight whenever you feel like giving up. To NOT give in to your old habits is the key. I also find it helps to NOT think about what you can’t have, but to think about all the foods you still can have. I’m sure there are plenty. Realistically, to get to under 80 kg is most likely to take you t least 3 months if you never slip and work out every day (briskly, that is, you should get out of breath, then you know you do it right), but I reckon it could very well take you longer. Determination is vital! Good luck, and don’t give up.

    Thanks slimmymaike…I will try to stay on track. I have to lose a fair bit of weight for my health, you words helped. 🙂
