What foods are good for electrolyte? I’ve seen the Gatorade commercials that claim they are good for replenishing lost electrolyte due to sweating, witch I do a lot of. Gatorade seams like a good drink choice, but one might say it has carbs or unnatural ingredients that would be bad.
My question is what should I eat if I’m worried about lost electrolytes?
Hi, Jason123. Is there a special reason you are concerned about electrolytes? Do you have intense workouts? High blood pressure?
The electrolyte potassium is high in bright orange fruits and vegetables, and potassium, magnesium, and calcium can be found in dark green leafy vegetables; potassium, calcium, and sodium are available in dairy products and vegan substitutes.
In short, if you eat a balanced diet high in all the things people say are healthy, you will get enough electrolytes. Exceptions are during intense workouts where there are a lot of sweat losses, or certain kidney conditions.
