Shuni
MemberStarted doing this about a month ago. I’ve stopped the OJ, started eating bread made with spelt and seeds and loads more fruit and veg. So I should be feeling on top of the world but I’m not. I feel weak and tender and generally lethargic. My tummy is looking flatter but I should I feel like this? Is my body going through a detox? Help!

MemberHi, Shuni. It could very well be that you are going through detox. Is this diet very different from what you are used to?
Processed and high-sugar foods can make some people feel artificially stimulated, so when you stop, your body has to bounce back to where it is stimulated on its own (much like with caffeine withdrawal).
Additionally, you may not be used to so much fiber in your diet. Try going back to the types of grain products you were eating before, and gradually make the switch to whole grain – every couple of days, eat half refined and half whole of one product, then add products every couples of days, and then start switching them over to 100% whole grain. Same thing with fruits and vegetables – add a serving each week. Also, remember to drink plenty of water – at least one glass for each meal – to help your body flush out toxins and deal with the fiber.
I hope you will post on your progress here. - AuthorPosts
