TiggywinkleMemberDoes anybody know what this flour is called here in the UK? It’s certainly not called that here. Is it wholemeal? I bake all my own bread (can be a downfall!) and I want to carry on doing this.

Walpole2MemberI was wondering the same thing! I also don’t know what ‘brick’ and ‘block’ cheese are! There are quite a few ingredients that we are not familiar with here in England I find.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, Tiggywinkle. Try online at http://www.breadlink.co.uk/. SWG is called sprouted wheat (or whatever grain) in the UK.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, Walpole2. Brick and block cheese are the same thing – see the UK example here https://www.centralsupplies.co.uk/cheeses/deli-block-cheeses.html.

lotusportMemberpresumably it stands for Sprouted Wholegrain Flour, did you buy any from the link above? My question is where can I buy the bread itself from, as I don’t really want to make it. Although I could bake a batch and freeze them I suppose?

Walpole2MemberNo, I didn’t buy any. I’m going to stick with 100% wholemeal bread, bought in my local store. I hope this will be ok?

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, Walpole2. 100% whole meal is great.

goalforit123MemberHas anyone in Britain found this sprouted whole grain bread??? And if so please tell me where to buy it, and who makes it, brand etc. Thanks Deb

Walpole2MemberI’m sticking with Allinsons 100% wholemeal which is fine. Easily obtainable from Sainsburys or wherever.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, goalforit123. Walpole has a good point. If you are ever curious about trying sprouted wheat products, try here http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk/cgi-local/frameset/script/search.html?query=sprouted&snar=.

JSsharapataMemberI make my bread out of SWG flour and love it. It is a big process but definitely worth it.
Attached is a U-Tube link on how it is done.
Good luck,
