DeborahjjhayesMemberFor the last three days I have experienced a real loss of appetite and ny hands are shaking. I know this is based on the American diabetic diet , could my keytones be too low? Or do you think this could be diet related?

BobGrouixMemberHey Debbie. If you are diabetic then check your blood sugar more often than normal if you are changing your eating habits. I would suggest just before each meal and again about 2 hours after each meal. Record both reading readings along with what you had to eat and drink. Also you should be working with your doctor on this. Just off hand with the symptoms you just described I would say you are having a hypoglycemic episode. Good luck and feel better.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, Deborah. Ketones being too low would likely only be a problem if you have a specific metabolic defect or growth hormone deficiency. If you can’t resolve the issue with BobGrouix’s great advice (thanks!), I would definitely turn to your healthcare provider.
