Ingredients

  1. 1 red or green jalapeño pepper, seeded and cut into ½-inch / 1-cm pieces
  2. 4 tsp. / 20 ml olive oil
  3. 4 cups / 270 g raw curly kale, stripped from the stalk and roughly chopped
  4. Salt or substitute, to taste
  5. Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  6. ¼ cup / 60 ml water

Directions

  1. In a large frying pan, heat the olive oil, then add the red jalapeño pepper and sauté for 1 minute. Season with ground black pepper and salt or substitute, if desired.
  2. Add the kale and sauté for 2 minutes, turning frequently.
  3. Add the water, cover, and steam for 3 minutes until the kale is tender.

  1. Hi, BlackBirdSong. Many foods do not require much cooking or preparation time, and you can easily make meals from them. These include fresh fruits and vegetables, breads and crackers with cheeses, avocado, tahini, and other nutritious spreads that can be made just by pureeing and seasoning canned legumes, shakes, yogurts and cottage cheese, and nuts and seeds. Just so I understand, do you not have access to any cooking equipment?
