Dovy
MemberCan anyone direct me to anything interesting about dealing with this issue? I know it will be argued that if “food is prepared the right way” you won’t need mayonnaise or ketchup. And of course I am not talking about smothering food in them. But some food choices just go better with them, and the first thing that comes to mind is tuna fish! Well, maybe a choice would be to stop eating tuna fish! Or other foods that just taste good with some mayo or ketchup. I look forward to input on this too. Thanks.

MemberWelcome Dovy
I didn’t know what to do with a meal that called for Tuna, Bread and Sour Cream. You figur it out. Surprisingly, not too bad.

MemberHi, Sandy. I hope more people get involved in the forum! The whole environment of Trim Down Club is great. It gets me focused, but what will I do if every dietician tells me to give up mayonnaise and ketchup?! And no, I don’t like the taste of mayo replacements. Yuck!

MemberHi, dovy! Hey, there is a recipe for tuna salad in the recipe section of TDC that uses mayo!! I make it at least every week or two, and we enjoy it! 😉 So, go check it out and enjoy your mayo!! Oh, and if you get desperate, you CAN add it to your meal if you use the arrow on the left of the meal or snack! But, you may have to adjust something else that day!

MemberHi everyone.
I was wondering if anyone could give me some good pointers on what to pack for lunch when I work 12 hours a day and have no access to a refrigerator to keep food cold. I work 6 days a week and I leave at 7 am and I get home about 7pm. I have very little down time and need healthy food that is filling enough to keep me out of the fast food joints. I am addicted to diet coke and I know that is bad but at a loss of how to kick the habit. Help please. I know I am not the only one with this issue so someone out there may have some pointers on how they did it.January 2, 2014 at 9:44 am #17012Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, Dovy. We won’t tell you to give them up, just be aware of how much you are eating and what ingredients go into them – there are good and not-so-good versions are just about everything. Just go for the all-natural types with minimal added sugar and salt in the ketchup, and lots of good oils in the mayonnaise.

MemberHi, LeeJay. There are a couple of options. You can pack sandwiches and yogurt (to be eaten first, if you are concerned about spoilage), fill thermoses with hearty shakes and soups (see our recipes if you need some), and take along nuts, seeds, cut fruits and vegetables.
