Hi Ossie-Sharon
There are different opinions about peanut butter.
I would like to know what you suggests.
Thank you
Hi, Christine. Peanut butter can be an excellent choice (if you’re not allergic, of course) when you get the all-natural type with minimal additives, and that is more syrupy than solid.
This is amazing to drink when your feeling a little hungry
Hi, Moshroom. Many of our recipes are in the Menu Planner lists. If you would like to add one that has not yet been added, select a similar item as a placesaver, and make the swap at mealtime. In the case of this particular recipe, for example, you can select just a regular glass of 2% milk.
Hello, is there a way for me to add these to my daily menu?
Hi, Carol. No – bananas are great!
Hi, Debi, and welcome!. Yes, you can – just make sure a few food groups are represented, i.e. fruits/vegetables, dairy or vegan, nuts/seeds, etc. Check out more of our smoothie and shake recipes in the Beverage section.
I thought banana was one of the foods we should never eat
I am just about to start this new way of eating!! My mornings are very busy, can I replace all the breakfasts in the menu with this smoothie??
So with this recipes, I don’t need to worry about knowing how many calories, proteins, carbs, fat and sugar it haves?
Hi, Gail51. Some of them, yes – look into those that specify “meal sub,” “breakfast,” etc., and that include ingredients from more than one food group (i.e., fruits/vegetables + nuts/seeds + calcium source).
Can i replace the drlnks for my breakfast menu
hi this smoothie is just great, can’t wait to try other ones. so far this plan is working for me.
to the person that wants to know what a ml is it take 30 ml to = 1 oz
this smoothie looks yummy!!!!
Almond milk is quite different from dairy milk nutritionally (no protein, less carbs), but is still an excellent choice. Try to get the type fortified with calcium and vitamins – that’s more important than seeking low-fat or fat-free.
Can I use Almond Milk & Stonyfield Organic Fat Free Plain Yogurt?
I want to ask Muscat46. Are you from Malta? My maiden name is Muscat and I’m from Malta. Sorry for getting off the subject but I have to ask
Hi, Marit. Sorry for the confusion. Bananas are wonderful! Just note that each one counts as two fruits.
I thought you said that one of the no no foods where bananas, i use one in my morning smoothie every day so I stopped!
this is fast…I like it!
this is great i love banana and cinnamon love it! : )
this recipe sounds great I will be trying this one a week for breakfast.
I really enjoyed this treat.
Delicious – thankyou
I’m always looking for interesting fruit smoothie recipes. Thanks for this one. Also, I use whey powder ( use measuring cup included). It adds 7 gm of protein and I use this for a meal. I also add about 5 ice cubes.
Mmmmmmm delicious.
sounds great cant wait to try it
Hi, 19Mark. Because banana has more sugar than other fruits, 1/2 is considered a full fruit exchange, and as you can see, only 1/2 goes into each serving of this shake. As far as chocolate goes, cocoa is actually quite good in protecting diabetics against related health problems – problems start when adding too much sugar, which this recipe does not have.
Hi, frjboatman. This recipe was submitted by a Clubmember, so I’m not sure what the reasoning may have been. You could probably just use a full cup if you wish.
Sounds absolutely yummy, but as I’m grade 2 diabetic my doctors say I’m not to eat bananas as there full of sugar, surely this must be the same with chocolate?
Why do you use 4/5 cup as a measurement?
If you use 1/2 cup and 1/3 cup you will be real close to 4/5 cup. Just a tiny bit of if they are level cups.
Hi, Muscat. It can be used as a snack on its own, but it is too small for a breakfast – you can double it for this (but I suggest to then use 2 small bananas or 1 large, vs. 2 large).
can this be used as a snack on its owen /breakfast?
A good simple dessert
1 frozen banana
2 or 3 fresh strawberries
Blend until smooth and enjoy
Next time I will add some peanut butter. Thanks for the tip
Hi, Shauna. If you can get pastured dairy, then definitely go for it! Most people don’t have access, so low-fat is the middle-of-the-road option. As for the addition of peanut butter, 1-2 tablespoons would make this shake a meal.
I’m confused. I thought we were supposed to buy whole raw milk and yogurt.
Why does this recipe call for low fat. Can I count it as a meal if I add peanut butter and whole milk. I work out and need the protein but I also want to loose weight. Please advise…
Sounds good
Hi, Mary. It is about 4/5 cup between 3/4 and 1 whole.
What is 200 ml ?
