MemberGood Morning to All! 😉
A couple of years ago my cousin forwarded an article to me from a website that, (truly) for the most-part, my interest wasn’t piqued enough to read anything but the article he indicated for me to read. Too bad for me! 🙁
When I joined TDC and genuinely wanted to lose the excess weight I had accumulated over six years, after quitting smoking, I decided to do some research regarding just what the ‘hail’ caused weight gain in so many of us. Well, I am sure most of us have learned/heard about our good ol’ — Metabolism! 🙁
And to add to the confusion of our quest to lose these unwanted pounds we ask ourselves everyday — what’s good for me and what isn’t? — dear God in Heaven — there is so much (too much) information to sort-out. We also ask ourselves the questions: “What do I believe?” And ‘most’ important: “WHO do I believe?”
Recently, when I’m researching products, first of all I ask myself: (ċui bono) Meaning: For whose benefit/profit? From there I go ‘here’ and then ‘there’ and then back again, until I feel I have enough information to make a reasonable and rational decision regarding — who’s telling the truth! (sigh)
Now, how may here (at least in the US) have never heard of Dr. Oz? I would venture to wager: Zero! It was on his show I first heard of: Probiotics. Sales for probiotics have literally spawned many nutritional producing entities to market their own probiotic product. But — (sigh) alas — not all probiotic products are created equal. For some of you who are contemplating taking a probiotic, may I say this? The worst thing you/me can do is to “buy” into something under the influence of that horrible disease: Total Ignorance. Guilty! Guilty! (sigh)
I have an app on my desktop for: http://www.dictionary.com/ and if you go to that website and enter — probiotic — you not only get the definition, you get: “Probiotics – Warning, by Consumers Guides” Click on that link and you will find the information available most interesting and valuable. 🙂
Today, (chronologically speaking) there is HUGE brouhaha over vitamin supplements. ‘Obviously’ the BIG pharma-companies DO NOT want us buying them — for obvious reasons. There is a famous doctor who is going to be on Dr. Oz’s program tonight (Feb 10) discussing the vitamin controversy, if you’re interested, here is a link from which you may find your area’s timeframe and station: http://www.doctoroz.com/find-station — just enter you Zip Code and voilà, happy watching. 😛
Please be careful in believing everything you read. Yes! That includes what I have just told you! To borrow a clichéd statement from those who advocate: Location. Location. Location. I say this: Research. Research. Research. 🙂
Have a great day, y’all! 😛

MemberHi, Janie. That is SUCH good advice. Much of my time spent researching nutrition science, trends, and products and separating the grain from the chaff. There is so much out there, and not everyone has our best interests at heart. Thanks for being such a guardian angel 🙂
