ButterflykrisMemberIs it ok to mix up the days from my menu? Can I switch Mondays menu for Fridays or if I like a days menu can I repeat that day a few times that week?

arthawayMemberI would also like to know that answer. I find it hard to stick to an entire days menu and sometimes switch either a meal or a snack from another day.
If you are cooking for yourself as well as different meals for other members of the family it becomes very difficult and time consuming.
I know there are plenty of things you can have instead of some things but it all takes so much time on the computer finding this all outMarch 3, 2014 at 10:49 am #18396
ButterflykrisMemberArthaway, This is the answer I got.
“good morning, your answer is yes~ I asked it awhile back too and was told you can eat each day in any order, and during each day you can eat those meals also in any order. Also, because some recipes make a lot you can eat the same day menu several days too.”
I have already made 3 weeks of menus. The first time I checked off EVERYTHING I would eat and got strange things like herring for breakfast. The last one I did I included only the things that I have on hand.
I’m still not sure if I can swap food within the groups. Say you have a carb,a protein and a fruit for snack 1 and a protein a fat and a veg for snack 2 can the fruit and veg be swapped while keeping the rest of the snack the same? Is it a food combining issue where they have to be eaten together?March 3, 2014 at 10:05 pm #18411
Ossie-SharonMemberHi, all. You can definitely mix up the days and the meals – whatever makes you happy. Just be sure to eat the most when you’re most active (a protein-rich breakfast is always a good idea), and don’t let too much time elapse between meals, and we do recommend to have a protein with a carbohydrate, to keep your blood sugar balanced.

arthawayMemberHi Butterflykris and Ossie-Sharon, Thank you for your comments. That really makes it a lot easier. For instance today I have several things that I have right here, but the two main meals, lunch and dinner, I would need to shop and also cook which today I do not have time for.
On my husband’s meal this evening he requested Beef Rendang with wild rice, papadams and cucumber with light sour cream. I will be having it with him and fortunately, there is nothing there that should be too bad even although I have not seen any Indian type meals on the menu.
Having given up my glass of wine with meals and my one square of chocolate after dinner, I think I deserve to stray a bit.March 3, 2014 at 11:36 pm #18421
ButterflykrisMemberMy menus gave me wine with dinner twice this week and i get chocolate a few times as a snack. Also look at the exchange list, you may be able to make a swap.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, arthaway. What you’re planning sounds great. Regarding Indian foods, the menus lists are set up for you to choose the ingredients, and you can prepare them as you wish. For example, in the case of the rendang, try to choose a lean meat (noted in lighter blue), and you’ll see coconut milk in the fats, spices are always free, and you can count the onions toward a “vegetable of your choice,” as appears in your menu; for the papadums, lentils are in the lists, and again, spices are free (and encouraged).

Ossie-SharonMemberJust go easy on the oil! Try using a nonstick pan, and see if you can saute instead of deep fry.
