I purchased this today and was excited to bring it home so my husband could try it in his coffee. We have both been looking everywhere for it. I tried it on my finger and almost gagged. He smiled, put it in his coffee and had to spit it out. I don’t take sugar but sometimes accidentally take a sip of his coffee. Well, I said, let me try it and it was horrible, horrible, horrible! It took over 1/2 hour to get the horrible taste out of our mouths. My question is: This monkfruit also contained, water, malic acid, sodium benzoate, and potassium sorbate. Would the malic acid make the horrible taste and after taste? If so, I will continue looking for the 100% monk fruit. Every store I have asked has mentioned that people are asking for it and they should be ordering some soon. Thanks for your help!
Hi, Sharon. That product is indeed not pure, and has some chemicals that prevent us from recommending it. If you and yours are sensitive to the aftertaste, I would recommend buying pure lo han guo (the Chinese name), which you can find on eBay.
