MemberHi, Robinp. Keep in mind that the vacation is to enjoy each other and the location, and food is not central. Pick the healthier of the items there, practice portion control, and avoid seconds! If you can use smaller plates, that may help. Don’t skip breakfast, drink plenty of water, and look for opportunities to exercise, even a little at a time.

MemberMy hubby and I are taking a trip to CA from State of WA. We will stay at military motels on many of the bases. It is easy to find salads for lunch. I will pack up snack foods like popcorn for the rooms with a microwave. Our cooler will hold yogurt and hard cheese. Graham crackers are good for the sweet tooth. There are many things out there that really are good for you. We stopped eating the donuts and waffles each morning on the continental breakfasts. A bowl of cereal and a piece of toast with fruit holds us for some time. We try to have a list of foods we plan to take and try to eat when we are out. Of course no one can stay on a strict way of eating on the road. Good luck on your trip.
