Member“fu” appeas on my grocery list uner the category of grains. no one at earth fare or whole foods had any idea what it was. Also they did not know what Fuyu was unless I was talking about persimmons.

MemberI wonder if they mean persimmons because I see that in the menu that corresponds to this grocery list and do not see “fu” at all. I would have thought of them as a fruit or veggie. Not grain.

MemberFu is also called Seitan, it is wheat gluten. Wheat meat. Easily found in most asian markets. It is high in protein & easy to digest. It comes in a variety of shapes & colors & is dried. Before cooking you soak it in water until it returns to a spongy-state. Very popular in Japanese culture or dishes.
