    Hello
I’ve just joined too and would like to know:
    a) what is a cup size; as metric conversion still includes this measurement and
    b) is there a shopping list for the 14 day programme?
    Many Thanks!

Hi, Sandydance21, and welcome. When you enter the Menu Planner application (in “Apps” above), you will be led to the food lists – foods in the lighter blues are more recommended. You can also read about types of recommended foods in the main Program Guide and Quick Start Guide (in “My Downloads” above). The basic rules are to favor whole, fresh, unprocessed, and unrefined foods without artificial ingredients or excess sugar or salt; control portion size; and rspread your intake out over the day so that you are eating when you are most active, and a total of 6 times per day. As far as a roast dinner, an example of an ideal meal would be a roast from an animal fed a pasture diet, not given hormones or excess antibiotics, with the fat trimmed off before cooking, with portions the size of the palm of your hand. Extras should be similarly natural and whole, and portioned reasonably. The more green vegetables the better, and go light on dressing.

Hi, I just joined and am trying to adjust my daily diet to 6 portions a day. It is hard since being on a sick leave from work I sleep longer and therefore my days are shorter. I am no stranger to organics and No-GMO and being a pescaterian I find that my menu choices are always over 90% since I am used to healthy choices. My challenge at this point is trying to get used to portion sizes ( I guess I ate less frequently but more at one time) The diet plan makes a lot of sense to me and when I come back to work in September I will be able to eat 6 meals no problem, I chose lots of recipes since I have a lot of time on my hands. I am not looking for fast results but a life plan that makes sense to me and this one does

Hi, Gentry. A cup is 8 fluid ounces – so in metric terms is 240 ml for liquids. However, for solids, this can vary widely – you can get a sense of this through these lists: http://www.trimdownclub.org/exchanges-lists.
At this time there is no shopping list for the 14-day programme, but the tech development team is working on something.

Hi Everybody…I also just joined and am trying to figure it all out. I got diagnosed yesterday with Pre-diabetes so here we go. I have watched my parents give themselves shots for years and I don’t want to go there. I am hoping my husband will get on board with me to exercise and eat right. My husband and I up to now get very little exercise and eat horribly. I’m determined to change…any suggestions on where or how to start affordably.

Hi I just joined…today was day 5! I’ve haven’t eaten this much food since I was a kid…enjoying it but it has been a challenge to try to get all the meals and water daily! Feeling good and already down 3.7 pounds! I love the fact that I can eat foods that I like and still lose weight! Studying my menus so I can be sure to stick with it for the weekend!

Hi, LeeGlorioso, and welcome. I would suggest reading the main Program Guide (in My Downloads above), then start easing into good choices through the Menu Planner. We don’t recommend diving in head first – gradual changes are best.

Hi, Janette, and welcome! Just ease into it. Read a little, improve a little, then up your efforts gradually. It will add up.
