Just wondering if there are any links to a list of branded wholegrain breads that fits the trimdown criteria?

Hi, Carla72. We actually can’t endorse certain brand formally, but we do discuss criteria for making good choices in our guides. Ultimately, we hope that label-reading will become second nature. For whole grain breads, look for “100%” whole grain or “sprouted” whole grain on the label; in the ingredients list, look out for any flours that are not whole, hydrogenated fats, or too many preservatives.

Still I cannot find wholegrain bread or wholegrain muffins. Is it sold in UK under wholegrain – Would I have to go to a specialist shop? I am stuck on rye bread, though I do find it delicious.E

Hi, Eveplatt7i. In the UK, it is often referred to as “wholemeal” or “brown” – but do check the label to make sure no refined flours (or hydrogenated/hardened fats) have snuck in there.
