Tagged: Raw dairy
I am new to this diet program and have gotten my meal planner done but wondering what the word “raw” means after cheese and cottage cheese? Is there something special I have to look for on the package of these products when grocery shopping for my food for the next few weeks?
Hi, ljgen390, and welcome. Raw in this context refers to dairy from milk that has not been pasteurized or homogenized (you can read more about it here http://www.trimdownclub.com/all-about-raw-milk). These items are generally not found in regular stores. To make things easier, you can try organic pastured dairy, which means the cows ate their natural diet (instead of grains) and so their products have the optimal composition (and organic means no pesticides or drugs).
