MemberHi, Janie4, and welcome. Just ease into it, an start with foods you know and like. Gradually you can upgrade, and find ways to make healthy versions of your favorite foods work for you.

MemberHi everyone, I am also new to this program. Today I was a little bad, I had an ice cream cone with my granddaughter. but have been quite true to my menu’s and eating menu. I know I can do this, mostly for myself and for my health. Bad habits are hard to break, but I know I will succeed. Wishing you all luck.

MemberHi, Leah. We encourage you to enjoy yourself. After all, this is a lifestyle not a diet, and too much deprivation is unhealthy.

MemberI just joined tonight and started off having breakfast for dinner because that was about all I had in the house that wasn’t processed. Il’ll be 54 in Sept and have always been very active and still am. I actually teach a fitness class twice a week and been a ballroom dancer for 35 years. I’ve never been slim because I have a muscular build and have always had to watch how I eat. Starting last year it seems no matter how careful I am I continue to gain weight. I went from a curvy 155 size 8-10 to a chunky 179 size 12-14. I tripped across this today regarding the 5 foods never to eat and joined. I’m really hoping following this way of eating will be the key to feeling sexy again. I’m wondering if there is anyone else who suddenly hit this type of change in metabolism and if this has worked for them. I would truly appreciate any input. Luck luck to all and God bless.

MemberHi, Simlay, and welcome! A fair number of Clubmembers have found themselves in your position and you can hook up with them in the Groups area (link above). The most popular is “Successful Beginnings”. My input is that the nutritional principles of this program are based on what you are describing, so I hope you find it suits you. In addition, if you have indeed been doing the same exercises for a long time, it could be that your muscles have become complacent and don’t burn fat the way they used to. I suggest ttrying a few different ones to wake up new muscles.

MemberI joined this week! I am ready for a change. I exercise a lot but the weight won’t come off. I hope eating healthier will take the weight off!

MemberI just signed up tonight after searching online for foods my husband can eat after learning he is a borderline diabetic. I NEVER had to “diet”, always being thin (size 4-6) until age 40. I went through SEVEN IVF attempts at age 38-39 and was successful with the last. My pregnancy was perfect, never felt better, gained about 30 pounds. In my 7th month, I was in a car accident, rear ended at 45 mph. Baby was fine but injured my lower back and neck. I had a beautiful baby girl (my third child) and lost the baby weight quickly as I did with the previous two children. I then started diagnostic tests on my back and neck (couldn’t have xrays during pregnancy, of course). Was placed on narcotic pain meds and started steroid injections. Then about 3 months after her birth i started feeling tired, sluggish and always cold. My mother had the same symptoms years ago and was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism. I saw my family physician and diagnosed me with the same then started Synthroid. To make a very long story short, after 3 Endocrinologists, 2 Pain Management Physicians, 1 Psychiatrist (who said I had A.D.D. and put me on Adderall), became physically addicted to the pain meds, had gained 30 pounds from the Lyrica, still in pain from the car accident, told I was never Hypothyroid yet was on the medicine this whole time AND was abusing the Adderall in order to function everyday. I was a HOT MESS! About a year ago I found a great OB/GYN, Psychiatrist and Psychologist. i got my hormones straighten out, got off the pain meds and Adderall, had laser spine surgery and am working through my “mother issues”. As soon as I started thyroid medicine (confirmed Hypothyroid this time), I dropped 20 lbs in two months! however, after summer vacations, I gained 10 back. My nutrition has been horrible, and i know it. I am eager to get the nutritional final piece back in place and find that energetic, happy girl inside me…I know she’s there!!
