KimiharMemberI just joined today and I am building my menu – what about coffee with cream and splenda? Also any thoughts on crystal light?

rgwin2MemberHi Kimihar, I literally just joined a few minutes ago. It is interesting that I saw your question about coffee with Splenda and cream. I am a big coffee drinker, and during the summer I make iced coffee. I generally brew a dark roast coffee for this, as the flavor is bold. I then add 2% milk to the coffee until it is light, sweeten it with Splenda, and chill it. I have found information on Splenda that says it spikes insulin levels just as sugar does. I continue to use it, and am curious to see what replies your question generates. I don’t drink Crystal Light very often. Is it sweetened with Splenda? Have you ever heard that Splenda spikes insulin levels? When I drink hot coffee, I generally use the sugar free flavored Coffee Mate. Not sure if that is good or bad, especially when I drink a lot of coffee.

dkproulxMemberI just joined today also, and I drink a lot of coffee too. I started
my diet a couple of months ago and I continued to drink coffee and lost 12 lbs but I have come to a stand still and can’t seem to lose
any more weight. I use Stevia to sweeten my coffee with sugar free
creamer. Could this make a difference in my weight loss?July 19, 2014 at 6:00 pm #21766
dkproulxMemberHi, Kimihar My thought on Crystal Light is that most contain
Aspartame as a sweetner. I can’t use products with this ingredient
because is causes me to have headaches. It may be ok for some people. - AuthorPosts
