I just began my third week. I find the plan pretty easy to follow and I am learning to change some of my old habits. On opening the third week plan I noticed that one of the meals includes Tofu. I am intolerant to soy. It causes real gastric distress, basically I can’t be far from the bathroom if I eat it. Do you have any suggestions on what I can substitute for the Tofu.
Hi, ler01.
Are you a vegetarian or vegan? If not, animal proteins can fill that spot.
Are you tolerant to gluten? If so, seitan can fill that spot. If not, try swapping your starch for higher-protein options such as quinoa and lupine.
Can you tolerate other legumes? If so, 1/2 cup would substitute for 3 ounces of tofu – if you are a diabetic, just be sure to scale down the starch serving to 1/2.
Or if you use nuts, scale down the fat serving.
Thank you that is very helpful. I am not a vegetarian or vegan but the suggestions sound interesting . I will give them a try.
