I seem to have way to many carbs in my diet, but I don’t know how to regulate them. Can anyone give me some suggestions? Is there a set ratio between carbs, protein, and fat?
Hi, NevaLee. There is a ratio of about 3 grams of carbohydrates for every gram of protein and every gram of fat. It comes out to about 45% of energy from carbohydrates, vs. 50-65% in a “regular” diet.
Keep in mind that the carbohydrates we recommend are high in “unavailable” carbohydrates, meaning the body will not respond to them the same as white bread or similar refined foods.
