Has any body had trouble getting all the foods right to make the selections come out so all the tabs on the top turn blue I am having trouble with fats.

I also am having a lot of trouble with this menu planner. I just entered an entire week of information and then went to the menu history, and none of it was there. I just wasted about 3 hours, as this was the 2nd time today this happened. I thought I made a mistake the first time. This web site is so clunky.

Hi, Sherry Carter. Is it that you are not finding enough fats that you like, or is it another problem?

I agree. I had trouble grasping how the menus selection worked and my menus came out with selections that made no sense and were not practical .. Can I cancel first attempt and try to redo?

I think I’m getting the hang of this now. Earlier today I was getting really frustrated as I really didn’t understand how the menus were put together and the values of each meal. I was getting so upset I didn’t feel like eating anything. After finally deciding what to have for lunch I took a look at questions others had asked and found the answer I needed. If you use the switch button at the top right hand corner of each meal you can find the nutritional value of that meal and therefore substitute as required. I’m not sure this is making sense but I feel better about the menus now and feel I understand a little more about how things work. Good luck to everyone.

Hi, SherryCarter. You can select various cooking oils and just use one of them, if you wish (the others will just serve as placeholders). Salad dressing is another option. Do you avoid nuts because of an allergy or a digestive condition? If it is an allergy, perhaps you can try seeds (though in this program, they are considered protein). Other popular fats include avocado. If those ideas don’t work for you, perhaps you can list here what fats you do normally eat, and I will help you work out the menu selections.

Hi, Kaybenton. Christine’s point about swapping out items is definitely a major way to go that we hope you can take advantage of. Thanks, Christine!

Hi Ossie: I just re-entered my menu choices as I have taken milk products out of my diet and now use Almond Milk. When I looked at the results of my daily menus I noticed that the “Dessert Shake” showed up 4 times in one day (Friday). This seems a bit odd to me.

I also wanted to ask you about changing my menu from what the software prepared. I work full-time and usually have a shake for breakfast – the one in your recipes with banana, & berries (I forget the name) but I have juggled it a bit a swapped out the berries for 1/2c Just Apples (applesauce with no sugar or additives) and I add a pinch of flax seed and a scoop of protein. Because I am at work for lunch and 2 snacks and can’t cook, I eat the same thing every day (don’t mind the repetition at all): I prepare the foods on Sunday and they last all week. I have a fridge under my desk.

My morning snack is 1 egg and 2 rice cakes; my lunch is 3oz chicken breast, 1/2c quinoa, 1/2c finely chopped vegies and a drizzle of olive oil with sugar-free jello or a piece of fruit for dessert.

Because I go to the gym during my lunch hour I eat while working and don’t finish my lunch until about 2-2:30 so I’m not usually hungry for an afternoon snack as I eat supper about 5-5:30.

I follow the supper menu and evening snack and I would like to know if I am getting enough of everything I need. I have always had trouble eating as much as the menu states so I do halve some of the items. i.e. 1/2 orange instead of a whole one or 1/2c wild rice instead of 1c.

    Would appreciate your comments.
    Thanks Georgia

Hi, SherryCarter. Can you eat seeds? If so, you can try seed butter, as well as avocado and non-nut oils. If you eat dairy, you can try butter, especially if you can get pastured butter.
