I have been using the Fitness Pal app for awhile and have now added the recommended fruits and veggies to my eating plan. I feel good and notice a much more even amount of energy throughout my day. I do keep going over my recommended sugar intake every day but it is sugar from fruits, not processed sugar. Is this typical? How much total sugar is healthy for an active, 137 lb woman with normal blood sugar?
Hi, catslp. If you don’t have diabetes and are not eating refined sugars, and you are following a meal pattern based on your needs, don’t worry too much about going “over” your recommended amount. According to your measurements, you would get about 180 grams of total carbohydrates in this program, most from high-fiber sources, which help to keep your blood sugar balanced.
