MemberI am new to program, and am on basically a food pantry food budget. At more than 200 lbs I have to do something. The menu offered had more things than I can afford over what is supplied by my church. Is there any one who can help? This seemed like a good program at price I could afford.

MemberHi, bookworm47, and welcome. Don’t worry about getting fancy foods (we do include simple ones in the Menu Planner lists), you will already benefit from the portion sizes, timing, and food group combinations, as well as the physical activity recommended. Also, try to see about buying in bulk rather than pre-packaged.

Memberthanks for the encouragement. I can get plenty of food from my church foodpantry, just not the variety or quality this program suggests. Don’t get me wrong, the food is good and I am very thankful to get it. I need help adjusting what I can get to the program. For instance, I can get ground beef, stew meat, and a roast of undetermined cut, pork sausage, a pork roast, chicken breasts, and turkey roast. I can eat well with that. What I have to buy is the Yougurt, nuts, crackers. What I really need and want is help adusjting the menus to what I can get.

MemberHi, Bookworm47. Sounds great!
It’s actually quite simple – when you get your delivery, enter the Menu Planner application and select those foods from the lists. If you find that isn’t working for you, please do repost here, and I will work through it with you. - AuthorPosts
