DeborahjjhayesMemberOssie , where do we stand on this Smuckers healthy solution? I read the ingredients , which seem to be all natural . The first ingredients is fruit syrup??? Never heard of that one… wanted to check. My diabetic friend says he eats this one instead of Nature valley.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, Deborahjjhayes. It certainly is better than most commercial jams out there.

bd2486MemberI read that “simply fruit” is only 43% fruit – I found ST. Dalfour 100% fruit jams in various flavors – really good.

Ossie-SharonMemberHi, bd2486. It is 43% mashed fruit, with the other 57% being a concentrated “syrup” made from fruit. While this is not ideal, it is better than many other products that may be more than 43% mashed fruit, but where the rest is sugar. As usual, the best option is usually homemade or something expensive. If money is no object, select something like St. Dafour 100% fruit preserves, which is considered the gold standard of mass-produced jams.
