I enjoy having a smoothie each day, easy way to get some more veggies and fruit. I am diabetic, under control and and learning as I go on what to add. How can I replace smoothie with a meal? What are good ways to get protein without too many carb?
Is there a section for diabetics?
Hi, duchess2nana. If you are using the Menu Planner application, you can just swap foods according to their groups. If you would like to list what goes into one of your smoothies, I can give you an example.
Note that this program is quite low in carbs, and is essentially designed for diabetics. Foods high in protein without simple carbs include legumes including tofu and tempeh, meat/poultry/fish, and eggs. Nuts also have protein, as well as good fats.
