    I joined a couple of weeks ago, and I cannot get myself to follow the menu. I don’t cook much so it is easy to just pop a Lean Cuisine in the microwave. I don’t know why I can’t get motivated. Has anyone else had this issue?

    I guess it’s a matter of how badly you wand to lose the weight. Or is weight interfering with your life. For me it was the idea that I don’t want to live my life lying around and I can’t get out to do the things I want to because of how I look and feel. Sure it’s not how you look but how you are inside but that doesn’t mean you have to be unhealthy. Cooking I found wasn’t that hard. It just meant that I had to reorganize my life a little bit to make time for it. Get your family to help if you can. But do it… it’s worth it in the end. Just think by Christmas you will be much thinner and happier and your relatives will drop jaws. What a hoot! You go for it.

    Hi, I’m a new member too, and I’ve just found your message! I want you to know, you are not the only one that need motivation! I have been dieting on and off for over forty years, but this time I would like to think I’m going to succeed. There is not a great deal of cooking involved, just think HEALTHY eating, and I know that , however, tempting and delicious the microwave meal will seem, it isn’t really healthy and you will definitely be hungry shortly after eating it! I’m following my personal menu, though I’m altering it slightly when necessary. Good luck, believe that you can kick all the bad habits (it’s what I’m trying to do!)

    This is me just starting my second week. Think the hardest part is getting all the ingredients to prepare any kind of food, after you have accomplished the ingredients you will be amazed how enjoying it all is, fresh cooked always tastes way better and never takes long you also know exactly what’s going into your dish rather than already made dishes. I never liked cooking a few years ago, but over the last year I have became a good we cook so joined this to find more heathy recipes. Take the microwave out ur home even temporarily at a friends, then you may find your motivation to use an other. It’s always worth a try. Good luck

    My problem is I love to cook and experiment with different ethnic recipes
    I have to harness myself to eat simply. Ihope to get into a
    Routine of making salads to go with the meat or poultry.

    Hi – I also just started and am only at the point of “studying” the menu choices but have also been referring to the menu to see what I can whip up. Summertime isn’t a big cooking season for me but I’m checking the crock pot recipes anyway.
    12 years ago I lost 40 lbs and gained about 10 of it back in the last 9 months. I rejoined WW but am at a different place with regard to my food, preferring healthier choices, so it’s a little harder this time around. That said, TDC came to me at the right moment and I can fine tune my food via it’s menus. I doubt I’ll be eating all the meals during the day but I am looking forward to doing it a different, healthier way.
    Glad to see there are people who actually post “on topic.” Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

    I just started today, and I haven’t even gotten through a week of designing menus. But every time I start a weight loss program, I have to buy all new food and it costs a fortune to start out. I’m going to try to use the same menu at least three times a week, just so I won’t have to spend so much. I also lost a lot of weight some time ago — 65 pounds on Fen-Phen. Of course as soon as my doctor took me off it, I started gaining it all back, plus. Now I need to lose 145 pounds or so, almost half my current weight. It seems almost too challenging.

    Hi, My name is Rachael, I just joined a few hours ago, I did my profile and menu planner for the week. It was a bit tedious because many of the foods and recipes were a bit different due to cultural preferences. I am going to keep an open mind and challenge myself, however buying 85% of food recommended is not what I had in mind. I had to select foods from different food groups that wasn’t a top choice but only selected it because I knew what they were. Secondly the system wouldn’t create a menu unless I put something down to generate a menu. The pre generated menus based on your profile didn’t match me as an individual because I don’t know what some of the ingredients are to begin with, in any event I will try out this program, I have 75 pounds to lose and nothing else is working out. Some of the meals are scary….. I fear it can spike my sugar levels but I will put confidence in the success stories I have read.

    Hi, Rachael, and welcome. We DEFINITELY encourage you to just ease into things, make changes gradually, and don’t do anything with which you feel uncomfortable. Little changes can add up to big effects, and if you take a relaxed approach, they can become second-nature.

    I just joined last week but am just starting as I just got back from vacation. I have had a lot of health issues the past 10 years…breast cancer and Graves’ disease to name a few so I am looking for a healthy way to lose about 30 pounds. Anxious to get started and see some results.

    Okay, I just started and am on my second week. I found those little snack/portion baggies and weigh and bag everything in the morning before I go to work. I have found the Good Earth Sweet and Spicy tea a lifesaver…no calories and it is delicious. I accidentally put in dairy free for food choices and would like to change that…how do I do that?

    Oh and I lost two pounds… I was a little sad, because I was following the menu and hoped that I would lose a little bit more, but if I’m doing it for 8 weeks, that’s 16 pounds, right?
