I have a few items in my fridge and pantry that seem to fit with the meal planning but are not on the list —
Sweet peppers – are they a free veggie or how do they fit in?
Jicima – what is it considered, how much can be ate at one time and what is it’s exchange?
Mixed nuts – Variety is the spice of life right? All the nuts are listed individually, so I feel kind of silly bringing this up but is there a reason why mixed nuts are not included in the planner?
Hi, needsanidentity. Sweet peppers and jicama are not free vegetables because they contain a significant amount of sugar (not a lot, just significant) – 1 cup of either is a vegetable exchange. As for the nuts, once you select a type for you menu, you can have any type or types you want – our system pretty much treats them all the same. Good point about mixed nuts, and I will suggest to our tech team to add it in a future upgrade.
