Is it just me or does there seem to be a huge amount of shopping for supplies needed ? I began the programme yesterday and have to say I have already spent £40 on supplies. I admit that I have not been hungry and it’s been quite easy to follow but it’s certainly more expensive than my old way of eating. Perhaps as I get into it more ill find cheaper options or ways of cutting things out/exchanging things. I still have an open mind as to whether this is the best way forward for me but will reserve judgement till I complete the first month and see what results I have.

I just joined and created my first week menu and I agree! Too much food to buy! I think I need to go in and change for repeat foods. Too overwhelming!!!!!

I had to clear my menu planner and choose fewer foods. I know they want to give us a variety, but I can eat the same thing so I don’t waste food. Just doing the best I can and picking up a few new things each week. I figure eliminating processed foods and eating plenty of fruits and vegetables is a step in the right direction.

I have just joined the club and created my first menu plan. My shopping list is HUGE – not sure whether I made the right decision in joining now.

Hey girls,,,,I’m sure we all made the right decision in joining. I’m finding it really easy to stick to and not “fussy” like other weight loss programmes. I just think over the weeks we’ll get to grips with our food choices so we don’t spend lots of money of “bits”. Let’s face it we can’t really get 2 oz of white chicken meat at Asda ,,,,, you have to buy a full chicken or spend more on ready prepared chicken fillets. That’s why I’m finding it so dear, but as I’ve already said, I’m sure it’ll get easier and we’ll lose lots of weight and completely change the way we “deal” with our food in the future.
GOOD LUCK TO US ALL ?

Hi, She27 (and thanks for the inspiration, Gail!). You can simplify your shopping list by repeating meals and even whole days during the week. You can also select minimal variety in your profile.

Ok guys,,, simple question really but I am a bit thick lol,,,,how much is “1 cup” I’d rather have weights coz “a cup” could be small, medium or large ??? Confused.com

Apart from that I’m doing OK 🙂

I did send an email asking about how much a cup measure weighs but never received a reply as you say there are all sizes of cups,

Hi, Gail and Pat. A cup by volume is equal to 240 ml, and for liquids and purees (and similarly textured foods such as yogurt), this is equal to the mass or weight. Other foods have fairly widely ranging weights per cup – you can see these here: http://www.trimdownclub.com/exchanges-lists.

Oh that’s great….. thanks for your reply.
I’d just like to share with everyone that I have just been shopping for ALL my menu ingredients for this coming week…….I’m really pleased that it cost me £19.59. I took advice from other members and changed my food preferences and the variation of foods has lessened therfore cheaper. I’m still enjoying the plan as I have not been hungry at all…..This is unusual for me when trying to lose weight ☺ I’m continuing on feeling very positive. Keep going guts. ….I’m sure it will be worth it. ?
