I added a glass of white wine into my menu.
Why does the exchange include a fat? Wine has
    a fat component?

Hi, Gooseknobs. It includes a fat because that’s how the body processes it.

how many fats can we have in the day?
so if wine is a fat how much is a glass of wine 8oz?
what about dark chocolate 70% how many oz can we have and is it also a fat?

Hi, Brenda. In this program, your daily allotment is about 65 grams each of protein and fat (plus 195 grams of carbohydrates). In terms of fat exchanges, this translates to about 3-4 per day. An 8 oz glass of wine is equal to 1 carb + 2 fat exchanges. Dark chocolate is considered a “sweet,” meaning 1 each carb+fat exchange per ounce (28 grams).

WHere do we find this information (Ossie Sharon) about exchanges .. and how the foods line up with these exchanges we are allocated?

I really don’t want you all to “tell” me what to eat (as in the menus).. I want to look at teh choices , how they stack up with the exchanges and go from there.

Hi…I would also like to have the answer to the question posted by rmera0408.

I am new and hoped this would be straightforward.
After having a lot of difficulty trying to get to grips with setting up my selection of foods I just added in carbs I don’t like in order to complete the selection for breakfast. I was able to see a menu for 7 days and i have changed some of the ingredients.
I have spent most of the day reading comments and articles and will delay starting the menu until I can work out a way to make this work for my lifestyle.
Looking forward to a reply and giving this a go.

I just gone yesterday. I am trying to set up my 8 week start up. I have some questions. Can we use frozen vegetables or only fresh? Also with Beans can we us dry beans?
Next question is with the flour. rice and almond flour do you make your own in the blender?

Hi, rmarra and judy. You can see your alloted exchanges by clicking on “Exchange view” in the toolbar above your finished menu. Exchanges are described here – http://www.trimdownclub.com/exchangs-lists.
You can also build each menu with the subapplication in the Menu Planner by clicking on the large circular arrow icon at the top right corner of each meal.

Hi, cardc, and welcome. Frozen vegetables are just fine, as are dried beans. Just note that the serving sizes are for cooked beans.
As for the flours, you can buy them as is or make them (the latter may be less expensive).

I am confused about amount of ounces permitted daily for each category. In your reply to me states:
Protein 65 grams ( but that is approx only 2.5oz per day but my mean plan gives me a lot more than that?
    Fat 65 grams
    Carb 195 grams
can you please let me know in ounces what is permitted? Thanks

Thanks, Ossie-Sharon, you answered my question about using my own choice of foods for each meal and having it translated into portions to make it work with the program. This has made this whole thing work beautifully for me. I have already lost a few pounds and less than a week on the program. So happy to see wine is included! The little circular icon up in the corner used to edit the meal plan is so helpful. I’m using this now and the more I use it the faster I get.
