My son has a severe tree nut and peanut allergy, and as a family we do not eat these products to help keep him safe. We can substitue sunflower seed butter and soy butter for peanut butter and sunflower seeds if we can find ones that are not processed in the same facility as nuts or peanuts (which is difficult but not impossible). Could you please provide alternative suggestions besides sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds?
Alternatives include soy nuts, watermelon seeds, chia seeds, hemp seeds (highest in protein), and sesame seeds (but try this one with caution, as there are stories of allergies here, too).
