MemberHi, Keri, and welcome. Congratulations on taking steps toward health – not easy, I’m sure. Per your photo, you look great.
The intention is for you to eat everything on the menu. The point is to stave off hunger and keep your metabolism up, as well as meet your nutritional needs.October 1, 2015 at 10:09 pm #31941debishank
MemberI, too, just joined a few hours ago. Trying to familiarized with the site. I need to lose about 60 pounds. Can anyone tell me how they got started and when did you see results. I’m going to try my best to stay on point but will need some encouragement along the way as well as giving back. Thanks for any replies.

Memberhi. I’m new here and having difficulty understanding the system and navigating the site
please will someone advise me whether the menu meals and snacks are interchangeable, or whether we are meant to eat everything on the menu and snack page?
why are snacks in pink box-does this mean they are optionalJanuary 4, 2016 at 10:18 am #33392Ossie-Sharon
MemberHi, goldelf, and welcome! Yes, meals and snacks are indeed interchangeable (and you can repeat them throughout the week). The intention is indeed for you to eat everything on the menu (including the snacks in the pink box). If you’re struggling with the amounts, please do repost here.

Memberhi,Ossie and thanks for the prompt reply
I am struggling to fit in the 3 snacks as well as the meals, as they would tend to run into each other 🙁
I’d appreciate advice on how best to organise it all, and how important is it to have all snacks?also specific question: when snack shows 3digestive biscuits-are mcvitie’s digestive biscuits allowed? thx for yr help

MemberHi, goldelf. If the number of meals isn’t consistent with your lifestyle, you can make your main meals bigger and forget the snacks. To make things more palatable, you can just make portions bigger based on your snack exchanges (to see exchanges, click on the icon in the toolbar above your menu). For example, if at lunch you have 4 ounces of chicken and a cup of rice, and at the next snack a roast beef sandwich, you can have a larger portion of chicken or a large portion of roast beef (or both, if you like), and a larger portion of rice or extra vegetable side (or trade the carb for a sauce you like). If you’re a diabetic, I would indeed recommend exchanging some of the extra starchy carb exchanges for proteins, vegetables, and healthy fats (like gravies based on olive oil or high-quality meats).

MemberRegarding McVitie, yes that’s the type of product we had in mind. However, if you can find a version that is made from 100% whole grains (like Dove’s Farm), that would be ideal.

MemberWith regard to meat and fish, it is the raw weight, though with the fish and if you make very lean meat choices, it won’t matter too much.

MemberIs the same true for vegetable weights (raw)?
