MemberHi, I lost 2 pounds last week. I’ve gained them back this week. I’m eating too much. 1 cup of quinoa is 2 servings! I have hashimoto’s hypothyroidism. I’m a kindergarten teacher who has NO time to exercise and is finding it takes the 3 hours I have in the evening to eat the last two meals and prepare my 3 meals that I take to work. I’m at work from 7:45 to 5:30 or 6:00. I feel full all the time and very frustrated. Can you help?

MemberHi, Laurie. The most important thing is to be sure that a healthcare provider familiar with your case is addressing your thyroid levels – if they are unbalanced and you don’t have time to exercise, it will take you longer to reach your goal.
One thing I can recommend for you is to perhaps consolidate your meals into 3 per day so that you have time leftover to exercise, and cut back on portions in the mean time, so that you don’t feel uncomfortably full.
The first place I would suggest to cut back is in the starchy carbs, then increase your protein portions at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Also, be sure not to eat too much of the goitrogenic foods and cook the gointrogenic vegetables. If you would like more guidance with any of these suggestions, please do repost.October 2, 2015 at 9:53 pm #31957lauriecornell
MemberI just got retested with my endo. and my levels are fine. I’m going to cut back on my carb intake especially at night. Thanks so much for your prompt response.

MemberHello, I still want to do the morning and afternoon snacks. I was wondering how I could make them more easy. I have a favorite soup recipe for Squash and Pear Soup that I can make on Sundays. Roast 2 chunked up acorn squash, 4 pears, 1 onion, 4 celery ribs, with 2 T of butter and spices. Then put them in the food processor and mix with low sodium chicken broth. Where would that fit into the program? I also used to eat Kind bars, both the nut and their mixed grain bars. Could I eat those or 1/2 of them?
Last night I ate 1/2 the carb, ate the ounce of choc. and nuts while I was fixing dinner (because I’m so hungry when I get home) and the grapes right after dinner. Then I could let that settle and still have time to ride my exercise bike for a little bit.October 4, 2015 at 10:14 pm #31980Ossie-Sharon
