I have been without a computer for 3 months. I have not been able to keep up with the plan. I am getting top dentures in Feb., and then will go back on the plan. My question is do I start from the beginning recipes I have or pick up from where I left off because portion sizes change as you lose weight. I lost 20 pounds before my computer went down and live on a fixed income so hopefully I will have a computer in Feb. Looking forward to my next 20 pounds. Please advise on the best way to restart my diet plan. Thank you.

Hi, Nodietforme5. I would suggest for you to pick up where you left off. I am delighted to read that you have found success so far, and of course that your computer is back and dentures are on the way!
By the way, if you would like assistance with ideas for making your current menu consistency-appropriate for your current dental situation, please do repost, and I would be happy to help.

I would appreciate the help for my current dental situation. It is very hard to chew now and will be for awhile after I get my dentures. 🙂

    What is uncured ham poultry?

    #33763

Hi, Nodietforme5. In general, try cooking your vegetables, and mashing or pureeing them (the latter for a soup); you don’t have to cook fruits, but selecting naturally soft items (such as bananas and berries) and finely chopping or pureeing (as in apple sauce) can help. At breakfast, try hot cereals (porridges, eggs, and pancakes over cold cereals and bread products. Overcook any other starches (such as pasta and rice – though of course mashed potatoes is the easiest), and select naturally soft proteins such as yogurt, cottage cheese, silken tofu (only organic, of course), fish, and ground meat. I hope that helps.

Hi, Cleanlady. Uncured poultry ham is a ham-like food made from chicken or turkey that does not contain artificial nitrites.

Thanks for the info. It definitely will help. Hoping for the same success I had last year….another 20 pounds. My doctor was impressed with the trim down club and was going to check it out…..if she liked it she was going to start recommending it to all her older patients! She is happy with the progress I have made and likes my enthusiasm to lose it slowly….20 pounds per year. I may evrn be able to cut back on my blood pressure medicine when I lose the next 20. Thank you again for your support! !

I am new to TDC. Is there a blueprint for creating my own meals (such as breakfast = 1 protein, 1 starch, 1 fruit, etc.)? This would help tremendously when I am eating at others’ homes or in a restaurant. I haven’t found anywhere on the site where the basics of this plan are laid out.

    Hi PattyPoo2,
You will be able to find the basics of the plan in our Quick Start Guide in the My Downloads area. While creating your own individual meals, it is important to meet your nutritional needs which are listed in the switch a meal interface.
    Best 🙂

    Hi mollieoswald,
After you create a menu, you will have the option to create a Grocery List (shopping list) based on your foods in your menu plan.
    Best 🙂

Hi, Pattypoo. Another option is to click on “Exchange mode” in the toolbar above your finished menu – you will see your exchanges there.

Free spreads are free! You can use them freely with meals. Here is a list of “free spreads” – http://www.trimdownclub.com/free-spreads/
