MemberIs Tillamook 1.5% yogurt with 170 to 190 calories ok for this plan? The containers are 6 ounces and contain anywhere from 34 to 37 carbs. I usually don’t like yogurt but this brand is delicious!

MemberCan you have flavored yogurt? It doesn’t say plain in my menu. I hate the plain, but like the vanalia or the fruit flavors.

MemberHi, Connie. We actually don’t encourage pre-flavored yogurts, as they tend to contain much too much refined sugar. We prefer you add your own fresh fruit or vanilla extract, plus a better natural sweetener like Stevia or maple syrup.

Member@Connie – you might try mixing some plain greek yogurt (lowfat or nonfat) into your flavored yogurt. I started out mixing them half and half. That will help to ease you into the plain, but even if you are eating it that way, it will at least cut the sugars down and up your protein. Then later, you can make it predominately plain with a little flavored mixed in until you get to the point where you can eat just plain.
Another good way to sweeten it up a bit is to add a bunch of cinnamon to it. And of course, add fruit.
I will say that I’ve found eating the 2% plain greek yogurt to work better taste-wise for me – less tart – a bit creamier.
Plain yogurt is also good with other herbs. I especially like it with tarragon to make chicken salad without mayo. Or a dollop on some asparagus.

MemberTry natural quark with pure Sweetner. Tastes like cream.
