MemberI am exercising 45 minutes 5 times a week, drinking 8 glasses of water (sometimes with lemon), eating clean and trying to keep calories to 1500ish a day. I am avoiding bread and sweets…but weaken for PB and nuts and the occasional yogurt.
I really want to make better progress….is it time for me to do split session workouts? I am thinking I need to incorporate an evening power walk into my elliptical/indoor rower workout. Thoughts?
Frustrated to see my body react so slowly to all my good effort. Am I being unrealistic to see more progress than I am? Frustrated to only see 5 measly pounds off after 3 long hard weeks of working out and eating well….but I am 55 and post hysterectomy now, so maybe that’s why its crawling
Thoughts on what I can do to ramp it up are appreciated.

MemberHi, Snovelbgirl. Yes, menopause can be a bear, and yes split session workouts can indeed add an extra boost! In general, changing your exercise routine every three weeks or so helps, so it’s good that you’re open to different types, and slimbetty is right – weight training can also make a difference.

MemberI am finding that high intensity sessions work best if you are over forty. They rev up your metabolism. These sessions are 12 minutes long. There are tons of these workouts on U-Tube and just by goggling it. I also get in the pool for aerobic workouts about 3x/week. So 4-5x a week is plenty. Don’t over exercise and burn yourself out!!! Exercise smarter…
