I am going to have hip surgery soon and will be physically limited for about six weeks. Do I need to adjust my menu amounts? I am losing about 2 to 3 pounds a month now. I am a 72 year old female and about 23 pounds from my goal. Thank you.
Hi, lsduwe. First, good luck with your surgery. Second, hip surgery can be stressful and require extra nutrition as you heal and rehabilitate.
Just in case you feel like your current amounts are too much for you during that time, you can lessen them a bit by changing the weight in your profile to “169” pounds.
I’ve had both hips and knees replaced before age 72. The pain pills create a weight loss environment and you won’t feel hungry. Be careful as you wean yourself from the medicine you will need. Weight loss will not be permanent.
