Very new to this. I joined because I was diagnosed with diverticulitis. I need to figure out what foods/ combos will be best for me and I need help figuring out how to do it. Any and all help/ support/suggestions would be great.
Hi, HarleyCh883. This program encourages high fiber consumption and plenty of fluids, which is important for preventing diverticulitis attacks (when you have an attack, it is best to ease off on fiber until you’re well). In addition, it is advisable to avoid popcorn, seeds, and nuts – basically anything that can get stuck in the little pockets in your intestines.
I recommend you use the personal version of the Menu Planner application (the right-most option here: http://www.trimdownclub.com/menu-planner) so you can select the foods that suit you (the healthiest are in the lighter blue shades) and avoid foods that may cause flares.
