  1. Hi, bobbiev. Yes, canola is a frequently GMO product, which is why it is very, very important to buy only organic canola (or low-erucic rapeseed), or at least a product that specifically states that it is not GMO. It is included as an option because it is tasteless, and some people are very sensitive to all additional tastes in recipes.

  2. This recipe absolutely could be converted to a “tart” size for fewer servings. Single serving ingredients:
    Crust
1 Tbsp. organic canola, macadamia nut, or hazelnut oil
    3-1/2 Tbsp. quinoa flour
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp baking powder
    1-1/2 tsp. water
    Filling
1/4 cup cooked and mashed sweet potatoes
3/4 tsp. organic canola or macadamia nut oil
1/4 egg or substitute equivalent, beaten
    2 Tbsp. xylitol
    1/4-1/2 tsp. whole grain flour
    Dash salt or substitute
1 Tbsp. buttermilk or 1 Tbsp. soy milk mixed with
    1/8 tsp. baking soda
    1/8 tsp. vanilla extract
    Dash ground nutmeg (optional)
    Dash ground cinnamon (optional)

  3. I don’t follow the recipe, I see or or or then in the directions buttermilk and soda is added to the potato mix.Am I correct to think the main recipe is mashed potato, butter and eggs .I was going to cook this now but I’ll wait for advice as I don’t want to wreck it by not adding buttermilk and baking soda if it’s required.
    Thanks AGAIN
