Hi, maynardpcp25. You can concentrate your meals into just four per day by adding the amount of food in each snack to the major meal before it. Since you are a diabetic, it is preferable that you don’t load up on too many starchy carbohydrates at once – therefore you can substitute a protein exchange for a carb exchange at you wish.
Get started by looking at the food group exchanges allotted to you at each meal by clicking on “Exchange mode” in the toolbar above your menu. Next, decide if you are going to add each snack to the main meal before it as is, or by changing the portions at the meal. Using your current menu as an example, on Monday you can have a breakfast of an omega-3 egg, 1 ounce of nut butter, 6 ounces of yogurt, and either both a peach and banana plus 1 slice of rye bread OR one of the fruits plus 2 slices of bread; at lunch, you can have 5-1/2 ounces of cod, 1 full cup of cooked brown rice, and 2 cups of salad with 2 tablespoons of dressing; dinner can then be as is, and as generally recommended for diabetics, the evening snack can also be as is.
As you lose weight, be sure to update your weight in your profile, then repeat the process every now and then to be sure that the number of exchanges is adjusted to your new weight.
