MemberHow do I know how many carbs, proteins and etc I am allowed a day on this plan? What is the ideal that I am striving for?

MemberHi, PEnnis. You can click on “Exchange mode” in the toolbar aboe your menu to see how many of each food group you are allotted here – this will, of course, decrease with your weight.
The exchange values are as follows:
1 carb exchange = 15 grams of carbohydrates + up to 3 grams of protein
1 protein exchange = 7 grams of protein + up to 5 grams of fat
1 fat exchange = 5 grams of fat
1 fruit exchange = 15 grams of carbohydrates
1 vegetable exchange = 5 grams of carbohydrates + up to 2 grams of protein
1 sweet exchange = up to 15 grams of carbohydrates + up to 5 grams of fat
1 free exchange = up to 5 grams of carbohydrates or up to 2 grams of protein or fat
Per the information provided in your profile, you will currently be provided daily with approximately 250 grams of carbohydrates, 85 grams of fat, and 109 grams of protein.September 6, 2017 at 10:52 pm #39626Muselman
MemberI wondered this too! I want to be able to cook my own homemade recipes that aren’t on here and be able to fit them into my allotted amount of carbs, proteins, fats…etc I’m still very confused about how to do this if I don’t have my iPad with me and I need to figure out the amount I’m allowed to have on my own!

MemberI don’t know why I am still confused about the exchange values. Seems confusing to me and hard to follow. Will I be within my values if I just stick to the menu planner and choosing foods from that?
