MemberI have tried the suggested beans in the diet (kidney, black etc.); beans have always been a bit of an issue to digest for me. I have avoided them for years and now I actually am getting stomache cramps for over 24 hours now. When I click to exchange this item, the only exchange is other beans. Since I do not believe in taking OTC or RX for food reactions – I am wondering what I can eat instead of beans on the meals that have beans as part of the menu. Oddly, I can eat hummus without problems.

MemberHi, smagill61. You can eat hummus probably because the beans are cooked much more than those eaten whole. You definitely don’t need to eat anything that doesn’t agree with you! There are plenty of other sources of protein and complex carbohydrates. You may get the best results by using the fully personal version of the Menu Planner application. Just click o n the “My Food Choices (apple) icon in the toolbar above your menu, and you will be brought to food lists from which you can make specific selections.

MemberThank you. I took off beans altogether and now I keep getting the message that there are not enough food choices to create a menu. All the categories are blue along the top as well as for all the daily meals and snacks. Many of the food choices are coconut based to which I am highly allergic and I don’t eat pork, squash I was advised to avoid. So, I have checked as many food items as I can. Is there a way to circumvent having more food choices that I indicated in order to get menus generated?
