I thought soy was a never eat food yet its in some recipes as is teriyaki which also has lots of sugar in it????? What about fresh soy beans????
Hi, Ellen. Soy is a problem when it is overly processed, as in snack foods and some imitation meat products. Traditional, lightly-processed soy foods (such as tofu and soy “milk”) as well as fermented products (such as tempeh) are fine, as are green soybeans (edamame).
Regarding teriyaki sauce, there are some products that use natural ingredients including cane sugar (rather than fructose syrup, which is problematic) and those are fine in small amounts – which is what you will see in our recipes.
